“Thank u Mighty God for gracefully allowing me to be a part of this day, thank u for days passed and thank u for days to come, dear father above all, grant me with wisdom and sound judgement, may I always be where you want me to be, may I see what you want me to see and may I hear what u want me to hear, and for each day may I hear you clearly, follow u nearly and love you dearly and with all the faith ever possible I boldly say ‘AMEN!’”.
I’ve since come to realise that one of the hardest part about writing is getting the correct opening line, because this line is intended only for the purpose of capturing you and imprisoning you without release or an option of a fine until the very last full stop (a well-fed stop). Ideally, it was decided without debate that an opening prayer is more fitting than an opening line (that right is ‘Hallelujah’ moment or at least a holy applause).
Another thing that’s not ‘2 minute noodle’ easy is subject matter, some serious high stake discussions and debates go on in a writer’s mind until a certain topic just won’t budge regardless of efforts to consciously dismiss it.
‘Women & We Men’ part 2 was in the works, in the lab, in and out of test tubes, microscope diagnosis and will now be frozen for preservation and relevance. Another furnace-hot topic that in the lab and is greatly indebted to you is ‘Amen to A man’, which would have been so perfectly timed with The Men’s Conference at my church. But just as mentioned earlier, a certain topic just won’t budge regardless of how sweetly you try to negotiate with it to wait for a while, so there’s a discovery, topics to can also be divas, and the diva to be dealt with is ‘Influence’, particularly to the youth.
So who is Influence and what’s he do for a living? Well in regard to ‘living’ he lives in each and every one of us, as for his job, he’s job description simply entails influencing. No one does this job better than he does so the post is never free because he is pretty good at he’s job and besides, he signed a lifetime contract so you are stuck with each other (kind of like a conscious Siamese twin.)
Influence is much faster than a chameleon yet blends with camouflage better than it does, so at times he’ll be there doing he’s job diligently but no one will see him.
Influence suffers from a character disorder, which could work for the benefit of the youth because Influence can be both good and bad. What he does is he works in accordance to your conscious, mind-set, knowledge and environment and priorities, so when these are in a good state you are most likely going to be under the ‘Good-influence spell’. So when your conscious is lost, your mind-set deformed, your knowledge crippled, your environment injured and your priorities are limping then you are bound to be victimised by bad influence, and sadly when bad influence leads you to do something that lands you in trouble you cannot blame bad influence, not because Influence is above the law, but because the law doesn’t even recognise bad Influence. That’s why when bad Influence has killed your reputation or even career, you cannot press charges. All you will be pressing is your LR (Life Remote) buttons out of anxiety and panic trying to change channels in your life when things have already gone wrong.
Influence has no off days, doesn’t take leave and doesn’t miss work for any reason, that’s why the youth needs not do any of those as well, we must constantly work, work at shaping our mind-sets, the quality of our knowledge, our environment and of course our priorities, special reference to our priorities because the youth seems to mistake what they want to do and what needs to be done, yet some know what’s right and what’s wrong, but then of course because of Influence their priorities become paralysed overtime as they admire what adults do, and fact is not all adults do what’s good, yet that doesn’t stop the youth, they just want to do what adults do, regardless of whether its ethical or not. So now we have young youth pretending to be adults so much that eventually they believe in their own lies so they soon become adults in their mind, so the conscious doesn’t act up to make you feel bad. The thing with the youth is they are easier to influence and more impressionable because they have less life experience and also because of the way their brains are wired. Their brains haven't grown enough to truly recognize good from bad choices or to fully predict the consequences of their actions.
Lack of life experience and the fact that they learn everything from the living beings around them, so when you're young you tend to be far more trusting than when you get older and experience that some people do lie (no reference to lying down). Even people you trust will look you straight in those things below your eyelashes and under your eyelids and lie to you.
Today's youth are faced with the challenge of coping with an ever-broadening spectrum of influences on decision making and behaviour. Many of these influences have potentially negative effects on growth and development.
And when you take a look at today’s youth, it’s actually quite scary as to what type of parents they will be, I’m frightened to say the least, I shiver as I write this, because factually generations are being worsened while bad influences are at an ever increasing abundance.
As much as we hate to admit, our youth do not live in a bubble. We may try to helicopter around them to shield them from the dangers of the real world but they are still being influenced by many sources.
